Saturday January 19, 2002 By Suki $ It's official, after several days of rumours going around, B21 have split up. Moviebox have released their new album new album "Long Overdue". B21 DID NOT GIVE MOVIEBOX PERMISSION 2 RELEASE THIS ALBUM, IT WAS RELEASED BY THEM (LOOKS LIKE THEY ARE CASHING IN). The album ONLY features 3 NEW SONGS and 3 have been lifted off previous albums. Track Listings 1) JAWANI 2) JAAN 3) DIL 4) KURIYA 5) DARSHAN (REMIX) 6) JAWANI (REMIX) For the record, Moviebox released a press release this afternoon sayin the band had parted company. (Maybe because MovieBox released the album without their permission?) A radio station in the midlands then got hold of bally who said the opposite that they were still together. Jassi then contacted the radio sayin that bally was wrong and they had split up. They will probably carry on as solo artists/producrs/singers. Having said all that, the conspiracy theorists amongst us (!!!) will say this is all just a publicity scam. B21 release a 4 track album now....everyone inevitably go out and buy it especially if its there last album? Low and behold, a few months later, b21 make up with moviebox and the "proper" 8-10 track album that we all expected is released. Inevitably everyone goes out and buys that too?? Thanx goes to "snoop_kutha" for most of the information. The Senator has released his new album called No Way Out. This album features 8 tracks and comes after the massive success of his debut album called Nothing To Lose. There's some good tracks on this album so go buy it. MC Metz & Trix MC have released their album called Danger on the UntouchablesUK.com label. This album consists of 12 tracks co-produced by RDB & Kasanova, alongside others. The album features tracks by artists including Kuldip Manak, Amar Arshi, Ranjit Manni & MC Intensity. This album is pretty phat so check it out. Death Jamm 5 - The Final Chapter by various artists has been released. This album features the production skills of Dr Zeus, Lil' Sach & DJ Swami, alongside others. It features 9 tracks by various artists including Labh Janjua, Kuldip Manak & Balwinder Safri and is doing well in the official Bhangra charts so check it out. OSA have released a compilation album called Star Garage Anthems. This album features 8 tracks by artists including Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Balwinder Safri & Shazia Manzoor. There's some good tracks on this album and the CD version also includes 2 videos. Panjabi Hit Squad - The Album by DJ Markie Mark & Asian DJ Culture is out now. This album has got some phat tracks on it and is available to order now on the cdguru.com website. The album features Surinder Shinda, Kuldip Paaras & Dildar Preet and includes a track with MC Metz & Trix MC together for the first time. This album should be a definite buy. Mac G has released his EP called Ambersariya on the Moviebox label. It consists of 4 tracks including the hit song Ambersariya, which features MC Metz & Trix MC. Forthcoming releases Surinder Rattan - to release his forthcoming EP "FROM THE MIND" taken from the "Lick 2" it features Mike Ruff Cut LLoyd (Garage Fever - Sun City, one of the uk's top garage DJ/producers) a Tappe remix (gal mukhi) on vocals is Sukdev Darapuria from Canada with MC METZ. Also features Labh Junjuha and Cheshire Cat on a bashment style track. Also has Amolak Atwal performing on a hip hop style track with the woodsmen (canada - Hip-Hop MC's). On the album (LICK 2) when its released will also feature ALAAP, a remix of their "Teri Chunni Di Sitrare) their first album. Panjabi MC - After the massive success of his last Album 'Dhol Jageero Da' Panjabi MC Is back with his new album 'Desi'. It is a fact that all the other bhangra artists measure themselves up against Panjabi MC to see just how good they are. His is like the Godfather of Panjabi Music...And he is back! 'Boliyan' with the tantalising voice of Sarbjit Kaur this track will send shivers down ya back. Following on from the success of 'Kohri' from 'Dhol Jageero Da' this track is made for the dance floor. The way it has been crafted is there for all the others to learn how to get people going mad on the dance floor. 'Sassi' preformed by the one and only Surrinder Shinda is a top tune. The lyrics are spot on and with Panjabi MC chipping in with a rap at the start of the song,this track is on par with Mirza part 2 and we all know what a great track that was. Shinda singing talents take this song to a place where it can't be touched. If you loved Mirza part 2....You'll die for this track. Rest of the album will feature other top artist such as Labh Junjua (rumour has it that the track is called "Dushmani Jatt Di") and with rumors of the Boliyan track to be released as a Single you could get a early taster of what is sure to be a class album from a class act. LL Cool Singh is working on a new album which will be a bit different because he will be looking to do some hindi stuff. He's currently talking to some people in Bombay. He's also working on his brothers album (Sweet Like Ladoo) too and have plans to bring the best talent into the spotlight. He's also setting up a organization called "The Alliance" where he will manage various DJ's, Dholis and all that sort of stuff. The album LL Cool Singh is supposadly working on is "The Live Session II (The 2nd Round) out late 2002 on Metro Music. Tigerstyle - The album "Virsa" will be released by mid 2002 and production is by Tigerstyle, DESI BOMBSQUAD was a name used by Tigerstyle previously when they were starting out with other DJs doing roadshows, you know that by now TONY so whats up with that eh? Also, there is also a mix of "SASSI", the track featured on PMC's "DESI" that Tigerstyle have been working with as I'm sure you all will have heard at the gigs that they've played in 2001. This track may or may not make it onto the album, let's just wait and see. Other artists on the album include : Surinder Shinda, Bhupi Gill, Romi Gill, Labh Janjua, Sarbjit Kaur, MC Soom-T (Glasgow's number 1 Underground female MC) and some other surprise artist. Anyway, Tigerstyle's flex on this album will be taking a slightly different harder approach, plenty DESI, plenty HIP HOP, plenty GARAGE and plenty BASS, most definitely. Tarli Digital Watch out for the debut album by Tarli Digital called "The Dub Conspiracy" being released by Kamlee Records real soon. The albums gonna featuring Master Saleem, Labh Janjua, Tariq Khan (Legacy), Romy Gill, Jeet Chahal (DCS) and a SURPRISE ARTIST!!! The tracks to watch out for are "Yaara" by Tariq Khan, written by Sukhjit Thandi (Bally Jagpal's Ranjha) and a bonus track called "Twisted Hero". Watch out for "Twisted Hero" being unleashed to the mainstream asian underground market. RDB are going to release a new 6-track EP in February. This comes after the massive success of their self-titled debut album, Rhythm Dhol Bass. So be sure to check out this EP when its released.
